If it is your artist desires that need quenching there is no lack of traditional and contemporary activities going on in one of the countless theatres, galleries and cultural venues around the city. From live local productions to grand-scale international spectaculars, we guarantee to not only satisfy, but exceed your expectations.
Due to the high calibre of art and theatre produced and exhibited year–round in the city you could be mistaken for thinking that Perth is hosting a permanent arts festival. Art lovers rejoice, you’ll think you’re in heaven.

Aussies love to celebrate the things they love and Perth revels in hosting festivals and events to share the good times with everyone. So if you like a good festival there is no shortage of them on offer throughout the year. Perth Fashion Festival (Sept), the Festival of Sport (Nov), Swan Festival of Light (Nov), Perth International Arts Festival (Feb), One Movement for Music Festival (Oct), West End Festival (Feb), Northbridge Festival, the Festival of Christmas and that’s just to name a few.
March is Eat Drink Perth month where the City of Perth collaborates with all the inner city restaurants, bars and café’s to deliver to you the best of its wining and dining experiences.
As June arrives and winter descends on the City, we welcome you indoors to our theatres, galleries and art spaces where all things arty are wrapped up and presented to you under the umbrella of the Winter Arts Season.

Love watching stuff on the big screen? Love the outdoors? Why not do both at the Northbridge Piazza Superscreen.
This venue plays host to a series of screen events including the annual Piazza Pics showcasing short films made by the Peter Weirs’ of the future from the WA Screen Acadamy and feature length movies for families and film buffs alike.
Sports fans…if your 42” home plasma screen still isn’t big enough to watch the footy grand final on, then bring your mates along and watch it on our mega screen. Remember to pack your sportsmanship along with your beanie and scarf in your favourite club colours.

Perth’s music scene is reputed around the world, thanks to homegrown bands like Eskimo Joe, Pendulum and Empire of the Sun. With a plethora of music venues catering to everyone from the jazz lovers to the disco divas you’ll only ever be a short shimmy away from a venue to suit you.
Fans of opera or classical music will delight in the sublime sounds of the many local, national and international acts that tour here each year and look out for the free concerts which are presented by the City of Perth bringing music to your ears and your back pocket.

The city is the ideal setting for sporting events owing to its Mediterranean climate and wide open green spaces. Each year thousands of participants enter popular events such as the City to Surf fun run, Great Bike Ride and the City of Perth Triathlon.
Right on the edge of the city the Swan river attracts lovers of water sports providing a playground to waterskiers, parasailers, canoeists, kayakers and other boating enthusiasts.
Perth is also home to the Gloucester Park Trotting tracks and the internationally recognised cricket venue, the WACA.
